Day 6 - Road trippin' Part 5 (George Bass Coastal Walk San Remo, Koala Conservation Center, The Nobbies, The Pillars/Mt Martha Beach)

We had to wake up early. Like always I was the first to wake up and it was my task to make sure the others to get ready. Around 6.45 in the morning, we headed to George Bass Coastal walk for hike. For me, it was not consider as hiking. The trail was super easy even for beginner. It was only 10 mins drive from our caravan park in Phillip Island. It was located at the outskirts of San Remo at Punchbowl Road to the Bass Highway in Kilcunda. You can walk or run the clifftop path high above the Bass Strait surf and beautiful secluded beaches below. How cool is that! It is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. You will experience some bush-walking along the way.

Ida and I started the journey by warming up the body and running as the others followed us at the back. However, it was nearly impossible! As we run, there must be something that caught our attention. How I wish that moment could be paused and all I wanted is to be in that time frame forever. That is how magnificent and breathtaking the scenery was.

I kept on pausing and resumed my run and didn't care on the pace and heart rate. Luckily I didn't bring my digital camera along. I was totally immersed with the view and kept on taking pictures in every possible angles. We were so enchanted by the beauty of the isolated beach. I could say it was the best run that I've ever experienced so far in life. It can't be compared to the previous run at Apollo Bay or elsewhere. I just can't stop praising what lied in front of my eyes. I couldn't believe I was there.

We took a lot of pictures and I depended only on my phone camera. We decided to go back to the caravan just until Half Moon Bay. We were running out of time. I wish I can continue until the end of the trail. The path is 20km long and it will take us forever to reach the end.

Below pictures are how we were embracing the awesomeness...

Honestly, I'm still recovering from the post-vacation syndrome. Even though how many times, I keep playing the videos and looking at the picture, it is never be the same as you are in that situation.

Moving on, we had our breakfast that morning after the walk. Ida and I reached the caravan early than the others. So we cooked something simple. Toast with grilled veges and scramble eggs as our meals before moving to next destination.

Once done, we departed to Koala Conservation Centre. It was only 20 mins away. The Koala Conservation Centre’s unique tree top boardwalks and close viewing areas allow visitors to see how truly amazing koalas are. Unlike a zoo, the Koala Conservation Centre is really unique as visitors get the chance to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, living as they would in the wild. The Koala Conservation Centre also features a visitor interpretation centre with gift shop and educational displays, which visitors will find extremely fascinating and informative.

Here are the price list:
Regular Pricing
Adult (16+yrs): $12.80
Child (4-15yrs): $6.40
Family (2Ad + 2Ch): $32.00
Pensioner: $8.95

Unfortunately, we were unable to see the Koala as told by the staff, it was not recommended for the time being. They were in "stress" period. So most of the koala were hidden and having long hibernation. So we decided to not waste our money here and believe it was not our "rezeki" yet.

The next destination was The Nobbies. Another 15 mins drive from the Conservation Center. The Nobbies Centre is an ecotourism destination located at Point Grant, on the western tip of Phillip Island. The Nobbies offers spectacular coastal viewing from the boardwalks and lookout points set amongst natural sea bird gardens. You can explore The Nobbies boardwalk and enjoy spectacular views along Phillip Island’s rugged south coast. Then you can see the awesome blowhole, a spectacular sea cave that thunders during big southern swells.

Besides, we took some mins to go inside The Nobbies Centre. You can enjoy a meal and drink at the cafe and shopping in the gift shop all while enjoying the great view with floor to ceiling windows looking out to Bass Strait. The Nobbies Cafe closes approximately 30 minutes before the above closing times, while the Gift Shop will remain open until the centre closes.

We also did some photo-shoot inside the caravan as we can't help but to mesmerize the background scenery.

After that, we went to The Pillars. It was located in Mornington. We stopped at Mt Martha beach. We were supposed to go to The Pillars where it is hyped among the cliff-jumpers. However it will be havoc only in summer. But we found another hidden gem, unexpectedly. It is another Beach Box House! Yes, same as at the Brighton Beach.  The peninsula's rainbow-coloured bathing boxes have provided a colourful backdrop to countless swims and lazy beach days all along the coast of Port Phillip Bay. These iconic bathing boxes are the peninsula's symbol of summer and have become a tourist attraction in their own right.

So here we were, another photo-shoot session.

Do I mention that we didn't have any proper meal yet since morning? We were super hungry at that time. So we decided to buy something on the go. There was a halal Fish n Chip restaurant 5 mins from the beach. It was Beachbox Fish & Chips. The amount was super huge. So we had our late lunch or super early dinner in the caravan.

After the quick dinner, we made our way back to caravan park in Phillip Island. Straight away, we set up our bed and had a good night sleep as we need to wake up super early the next day. Yes, I mean like super early, at least 5am in the dawn.

Day 7 - Road trippin' part 6 (Lake Mountain, Tesselaar Tulips Festival 2018, return the caravan, night strolling at CBD)

It's day 7 since we landed at this fantastic country. Lake Mountain was not in our official itinerary. We were actually cramped our activities yesterday in order to have a little free time on this day. That is why we had to wake up at least 5am and departed to Lake Mountain. We wanted to experience different surrounding and if we are lucky, we can play with the snow. It was 2 hours and half drive from Phillip Island. I think it was unfortunate experience for us in this trip.

Let me introduce first about the Lake Mountain that we wanted to go badly. It is the most popular ski resort in Australia in visitor numbers due to its proximity to the populous city of Melbourne, mainly from casual visitors. Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is an Unincorporated area of Victoria with unpaved roads. Of course along the way you will see these Alpine trees and we were super thrilled.

This is the imagination that we kept in mind. However, we were running out of luck. We searched for Lake Mountain and the GPS took us at different place. We went through endless unpaved roads with thick branches on our left and right. Mojo drove the caravan slowly as he was preventing from any accident. I think the main reason we got lost, is lack of research. It was heartbreaking for us as we didn't find our way to the correct place and we were wasting time there. After all it was an amazing experience. So I believe proper study needs to be done in any destination you want to go to. Unless you are relying on tour agent. I didn't manage to take any photos because we were focusing on the road and to keep Mojo calm in every situation. I believe Mojo played the vital role here. Thanks!

Let's move on to our next adventure. Yes, it's finally the flower festival. Tesselaar Tulips Festival is held in Silvan, Victoria every spring since long ago. It has become one of iconic tourist attraction in Victoria, Australia with more than 120 varieties of tulips are shown. However, it was the first day of the festival, so we were not expecting to see blooming tulips.

The ticket for an adult costed about 28aud. As we arrived, we went to the tulips section. The tulips were still not blooming. We took a lot of pictures. As we need to return the caravan before 3.30pm, so we were in hurry. Fortunately, we got the guts to explore a bit more and guess what, we found another sections of blooming flowers. There were hundreds of them. I was super excited and took as many video as I can and forgot to take pictures for memories. So you have to wait until my vlog up on my Youtube!

We departed to Central West Business Park to return the caravan. We stopped at the service station to fill in the tank first and tidy up a bit. We were sad that the fact we had to let our caravan go. It was practically comfortable to be our home for past six days. We returned the caravan without any major problem and ordered Uber to send us to our AirBnb in CBD.

We arrived at our AirBnb around 6pm and decided to have short break before strolling around the city at night. Nawal, Nadira and Nadiah went for window shopping early than the rest of us. Around 8.30pm, Mojo, Ida and I went for a walk and wondering around the city. We went to the train station, random supermarket and took pictures.

That is how we spent then night and ended the long tiring day. It was fruitful despite the unfortunate event. We enjoyed every bit of it.

I will continue our journey and adventure at CBD on Part 4. I'm not sure it is good news for you or not but Part 4 will be the last one for this trip. Like finally, I can have all these documented. So one day, I will visit my own blog to get my memories back.

See you in next post! No hate just love, peace out.
